How to Check the Computer Specs on Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP

Sometimes we might want to upgrade our computer or just checking the specification of our devices. When we have more and more works to work on computer, it becomes necessary for us to know how exactly our computer suits our requirement.

It might be quite annoying if your computer is not capable of supporting gaming or working requirements. Sure it is possible to speed up your computer without knowing specifications; however, it’s always an helpful knowledge to know the more accurate information about your device.

There are multiple and different methods of how you can check the specifications of your computer, and there are one universal method I would like to share that work for all currently existing Windows: XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.

Universal Method: Win + Pause/Break

Click the “Windows” button together with the “Pause/Break” button at the same time. Then you will see the technical specs of your computer for your Windows.

How to check the computer specs of various Windows Versions:

Windows 10

Step 1. Open the computer’s Windows Explorer and find the “This PC” option.
Step 2. Right-click the icon to open the context menu and select the “Properties” option.

Step 1. Click the “Start” menu and search for “System” in the search field.
Step 2. Select the “System” option from the results.

Windows 7

Step 1. Find the “Computer” icon on your desktop.
Step 2. Right-click the icon to open the context menu and select the “Properties” option.

Windows Vista

Step 1. Find the “Computer” icon on your desktop.
Step 2. Right-click the icon to open the context menu and select the “Properties” option.

Windows XP

Step 1. Find the “My Computer” icon on your desktop.
Step 2. Right-click the icon to open the context menu and select the “Properties” option.
